7 and 8 months!

Wow! I'm really bad at keeping up on this! G is now 8 months old and alot has happened in the last 2 months! The week he turned 7 months he started crawling, pulled up to stand and broke his first tooth! I keep telling him one milestone at a time! He's a go getter these days and into everything. I just have to say he IS the happiest baby I've ever seen! He rarely cries or whines! (only when he's tired or hungry) He's always excited about bath time! (Hence the first pic!)

Thank you G for censoring your own pic! :)
I took his 8 month pics the same day we took our family pictures! G did so good for the photo shoot! I cannot wait to see them!! :) He looked very handsome is his sweater! :)

He loves standing up in his crib :)

Happy Baby!

Fun happenings:

~G has started talking more and more and Sach is happy to say G is saying "Dada" way more

often than "Mama".

~He likes to whisper and it is so stinkin cute :)

~He has 2 teeth now (both front bottom teeth)

~He loves to read books especially at bedtime.

~He is walking around furniture (holding on of course)

~ He says "baba, dada, mama" and makes the "f" sounds

~G loves to "click" tongue

~G has decided his bedtime is when he wants it to be. He used to go down easy around 7:45

or 8 but now he wakes up around 8:45 and doesn't go back to sleep until 10 or 10:30. (I

could use some tips here, is this when you let them "scream it out"? He screams bloody

murder until you pick him up and let him play a bit more, ugh! so frustrating!)

~G had his first runny nose this week and did not adjust well to breathing through his mouth.

We celebrated my birthday this last week. Is it sad that instead of going out on the town I opted to stay home and sleep? Man, I feel old!!

That's all I can think of for now. I'll try to update sooner next time :)

5 and 6 month pics!

(I started this post almost a month ago and am just finishing it today September 15th! Where is the time going?!) G is fastly approaching 7 months and I haven't even posted 5 month stuff! I'm so behind! He's growing, growing, growing and is always happy and squealing! G just started saying "Mama" this week! Needless to say I love it! G had his 6 month appt last week and stats as follows:

Weight: 16 lbs 11 oz (25%)

Height: 26.5 inches (50%)

Head: 17 inches (25%)

I really wasn't expecting him to make it to the 50th percentile for height but Woohoo! Maybe he won't be too much of a shrimp! G is trying really hard to crawl and still loves to be on his feet. Reverse is his specialty for now. He is eating baby food like a champ and weened (sp?) himself just before 6 months (at least I didn't have to). Self feeding is still a work in progress but we're getting there. :)

Still loves snoozing with dad :)

Getting big!! :)

I recently submitted G for the cutest baby contest on Kathie Lee and Hoda (Today Show) just for fun! Winners get flown to NYC! :) I don't think we stand a chance but it would be pretty neat to see G on TV! :) So if you watch that show, be on the lookout for this cute little guy! :)

First Taste of Rice Cereal....

Tonight we gave G his first taste of rice cereal. Needless to say, it was not a winner. I will try to upload the videos soon because they are hilarious! :)

Looking so cute in his highchair! :) Excited about being a big boy! If only he knew what was coming, I think the expression would not have been so happy.

He says "No Way!"

Wondering, "What was that stuff? Gross!"

Our first experience was not a good one. We are open to suggestions on ways to mix it so that he will like it! :) Please!

4 months old

Wow! 4 Months already! I can't believe how much he has changed in the last 4 months! We had G's 4 month appointment last week and his stats were as follows:

Weight: 12lbs 13 oz (25th ercentile)

height: 24 inches (10th percentile)

Things he has accomplished recently:
~Rolling over, G is quite the pro and I have a video I will be posting at a later date. He loves tummy time now because he can control how long it lasts :) He has figured out how to scoot on the floor but can only go backwards for now. G can also put his weight on his legs and make the walking motions.
~Talking..G now can say "goo" and he is most talkative in the mornings.
~Giggling, although it takes an act of Congress to get him to giggle but when he does it is so cute! He giggled for me for the first time at this doctor's appointment! I almost cried it was so cute!
~G has found his toes and boy are they neat! He smiles HUGE every time he finds them!
~Still not sleeping through the night, G wakes up around 3am and then every 2 hours after that. He still nurses but is liking his bottles more and more. Our doctor told us not to start rice cereal just yet but G is very interested in watching us eat and he reaches for my cup and puts it to his mouth all the time. baby foods are in the near future

G having some Tummy time!

I have rotated this picture I don't know how many times and it keeps going back to this. G is still a little short for his Jumper but thanks to old college textbooks he is short no more! Sach is hoping the knowledge soaks in through his feet :)

G recently went swimming for the first time. Have I mentioned he LOVES the water, just like his dad. He always looks so serious but I swear he was having fun kicking around :)

I have a few videos I will be posting so keep checking back! :)

Cute pics! :)

I took some pictures of G while he was hanging outside with his dad this morning and this evening. He is soooo happy outside! :)

This is his "I'm looking at my Mama" face :)

(I just LOVE those cheeks!)

Being Mr Smiley :)

He was talking in these but he's still cute :)

Updates to G's room..

I keep meaning to post pictures of G's fantastic gifts! First is the toy box that Sach's mom painted to match G's room! It was my toy box as a kid that my dad has made for my mom way before we came along. I didn't take before pictures but it was just solid blue.

Did I mention that Sach's mom is extremely talented?!!! She's the BOMB! and I love how it turned out!

Second, my friend Courtney from work had some letters painted to match G's room. Jordan Patterson (I think is her name) painted them. (Her mom owns "Random Acts", my favorite store in the village shopping center.) Again, they are fabulous!! :) And please don't judge the crappy hanging job, I need to work on them. :)

I love the little details!

The "R" is my favorite! Have I mentioned I LOVE elephants?!! :)

Thank you Judy and Courtney for the finishing touches on G's room!! Yall are the BEST!!! :)

3 months!

G is 3 months old!! Time is FLYING! He has changed to much in the last month and is getting bigger by the day. Some things that stand out from the last month are:

He definitely has a big personality.

His eyes are going to end up being brown, darnit! I was hoping he'd get my blues but I do like his daddy's eyes. :)

He's just on the verge of rolling over.

G is still breastfeeding most of the time but usually get one formula bottle during the day because mom cannot keep up with his needs. Pumping at work during a 12 hour shift is hard but I'm doing my best! I've been taking some pills to help increase my milk and they seem to have helped a little bit.

G is a pro at cooing but his giggles are hiding. We have heard him giggle once and it seems like he's going to all the time but nothing comes out! We can't wait till he starts giggling more! :)

Loving some tummy time! :)

I took G to meet my Mema on his 3 month birthday! My Mema has Alzheimer's Disease and lives at Sagecrest. She kept asking my dad if G was his. :) She was so sweet with him and kept saying how soft he is. :) G did good with her too. He smiled for her and cooed for her.

I've been sick the last 2 days, running fever and sore throat. I got an antibiotic shot today so hopefully I'm on the mend. I'm praying G doesn't catch whatever it is I have.

2 months old! and 1 year!

I know this is super late! I don't know how people do these things with little ones! :)
Easter Sunday was mine and Sach's 1st wedding anniversary! It's hard to believe how much we've accomplished in the first year of marriage. We bought a house AND had a kid! I love him more now that I ever did, he's the best dad and husband ever! :)

G was 2 months old (2 weeks ago!). We had his 2 months check up and he got his first round of shots. I thought I could handle it but when time came for the shots I couldn't even look, not that watching Sach react to G's face was any better! G was a champ though! He's growing fabulously!

Weight: 9 lbs 9 oz (10th percentile)

Length: 22 1/4 inches (15 percentile)

Head circumference: 15 inches (10 percentile)

Poor G has no hope in being tall! The practitioner says she's happy with his growth and for us not to be upset if he's always in the lower percentiles, his parents are pretty small too! :) G has started smiling and has been a happy little guy. He's still not sleeping in his crib much, a little due to tired parents who don't want to stay up all night fighting the crib.

We've had people tell us he looks like both of us. I think he looks like Sach a whole lot and just a little like me maybe. I don't see me in him at all. He's just real stinkin' cute! :)

My mom bought G an elephant outfit at Christmas and he is finally big enough to wear it! I love elephants and I just couldn't resist taking a pic of him with the hat on! He'll kill me for the pics when he gets older I'm sure. He was actually pretty content with the hat on, I was surprised.

I hope everyone has a happy mother's day!! :)

1 Month!

We had Baby G's one month check up yesterday. He is growing fast and doing great! He has gained a pound since his 2 week check up. His doctor put him on Zantac for his reflux, she says the smaller babies seem to have reflux more than larger babies. We're hoping this will help him not have so much tummy troubles and maybe will help him sleep. (cross your fingers) He nurses like a champ and rarely sleeps through meal time. I've had to totally change my diet and cut out all the food I love because he does not love them.
Weight: 7lbs 14 oz

Length: 20.5 inches

Head circumference: 14.25 inches

I'm terrible at taking pictures but I'm going to try and take monthly pictures to watch his growth. Here are a couple. I couldn't decide if I should take his pics of him sitting up or laying down so I did both.

G has started smiling and has the cutest nose krinkle. I have yet to catch a picture of these but hopefully soon! We have decided he looks just like his dad and many people say he does as well. We'll see how he changes in the coming weeks.

2 Weeks already!

We had Graham's 2 week checkup last Friday. We weren't told the percentile he was in for everything but he's doing great!

Weight: 6 lbs 15 oz
Length: 20.5 inches long
Head circumference: 14 inches
He had gained a pound since the previous week and surpassed his birth weight! He's growing like a weed! Baby G is still not sleeping at night though. I think he might have a little colic and some reflux. I am open to any suggestions for getting him to sleep at night or just get his days and nights sorted. Even though he keeps us up all night we are enjoying every minute with our little guy! I'm dreading going back to work!

One week under our belts :)

We survived the first week! Yay! After the first night we were a bit doubtful. Sach was able to stay home with us the first week and my mom was here to help. Graham decided he did not like sleeping in the bassinet and that days were for sleeping while nights were for screaming! He is slowly but surely sleeping more at night and staying awake a little more during the day. He is a super nurser and has been great! We had a little scare with jaundice and he lost almost a whole pound in the first few days, but since my milk came in he is gaining weight like a champ! Our house has been full of visitors. Sach and I are looking forward to a little family time and hopefully some quiet time. :)
Graham is getting used to sleeping in the bassinet after a little adjustments. I think he might have a but of reflux so laying flat is not something he likes to do. He rarely cries and just wimpers when he is hungry. He is a perfect baby! We had his pictures done Saturday morning, his one week bday, and we can't wait to see them! Our photographer sent me some sneak peak pics on my phone but I can't figure out how to download them, so those will have to come at a later date. I'm starting to get around a little faster so that is making things easier. Sach and I can't stop staring at him! He is just so perfect! :)

from this am

Pops and Nana (Sach's parents)
Tootie (or Nina, we can't decide)

Daddy-O!

I love this pic! Sach took over cry duty one night after Graham ate and let me sleep. When I woke up and went in to check on them, this is what I found. They were both in the exact same position and it was sooo cute! :) Like father like son.

Aunt Ash :)

Tandi :)
There have been way more visitors so don't get your feelings hurt if I didn't post a pic of you. There are lots! Thank you to everyone for their kinds words and support over the last 9 months and the last week! We are doing great and couldn't be happier or more blessed. We thank God everyday for our little guy and all the love around us. :)

Graham Owen Zipper

Graham blessed us with his presence one week ago today! February 26, at 4:18 am and weighed 6lbs 12 oz, 20 in long. It was a perfect labor and went very quick! I was very grateful, needless to say. I had worked on Friday, my last 12 hour shift before my maternity leave started. I had contractions all day during work but didn't think anything of it. I clocked out at 7:08 pm and as I was walking out the back door of the ER my water broke! I turned around and walked right back in and was wisked to Labor and Delivery by one of my co-workers. It was perfect timing. Sach rushed to the hospital and was so excited! We called my mom so she could head in from Dallas. My dad and Donna were out of town for a basketball game and headed in and my doctor was out of town too! The doctor made it into town in time for the delivery, thank goodness! My sister came to keep me company while Sach ran back home for some essentials. Needless to say the contractions started coming and since my water had broken they were intense! I went ahead with the epidural around 1am to try an sleep since I had been working all day! I dilated from a 2 to a 10 in an hour and a half and before we knew it we were parents! Little Graham has been amazing and is trying to get his nights and days straight but is having a little trouble. Sach and I have been crazy pooped but the excitement of being parents far outweighs the bags under our eyes :)

Graham, not wanting his picture taken
Before the birth

We couldn't stop staring!

Our sweet little fam!
Graham had some issues with jaundice this week so we were having to use a "Bili-blanket" and that's why he is naked in the last pic. I am not trying to freeze my child out! :) He has fully recovered and couldn't be more perfect! Being a mom is the best thing in the world and I think Sach would agree with being a dad :)
